If you want to know whether the newly launched New Zenler is the right course platform for you or not, then you’ll love this guide.
New Zenler is supposed to be a truly all-in-one platform that offers all the features you need to create and sell online courses.
At first glance, the platform seems quite promising — but is it really that good? Where does it fit in the already crowded online course hosting space? What features does it offer, and how do they perform?
To answer these questions, I signed up for New Zenler and thoroughly tested all the software sections to understand its features, strengths, and weaknesses.
In this New Zenler review, I’ll cover everything important that the platform has to offer for creating and selling online courses. I’ll also share my experience of using the software along with what I like and what I don’t like about it.
Let’s get started.

What Is New Zenler?
New Zenler is an all-in-one online course platform designed to help online creators create, market, and sell online courses and memberships.
The idea is to let you run your entire online education business from a single platform without hiring designers, developers, or marketers to build your platform.
It offers a range of course creation and engagement features, including drag-and-drop course builder, live lessons, quizzes and assignments, certificates, and community.
Moreover, you get a powerful site builder, blogging features, flexible pricing options, a 1-step checkout process, a sales funnel builder, email marketing tools, and affiliate marketing features.
So, it’s different from standalone online course platforms like Thinkific and Teachable that primarily focus on course creation and only offer the essential tools for website building and sales and marketing.
It’s also different from marketplaces such as Udemy and Skillshare. Unlike these marketplaces, you have complete control over policies, student data, and course pricing.
Another thing you should know is that New Zenler, like top course hosting platforms, provides you with the infrastructure for your website and takes care of all the techy stuff (updates, maintenance, and security).
One thing to remember, though, is that the platform is still in beta. So, you may find a few kinks in the software. However, since the platform’s first launch in 2019, they have taken care of some of these smaller issues. Also, they keep adding new features constantly.
In our testing, we found the platform to be robust and didn’t encounter any significant issues.
Moreover, New Zenler comes from a team that has been selling online course solutions for more than five years. The platform is already powering thousands of online courses businesses, so it’s a real deal.
With this in mind, let’s deep dive into this New Zenler review and take a closer look at what the platform has to offer.
Ease of Use
The last thing you would want is an online platform with a steep learning curve as you’ll get overwhelmed and probably stop using it.
To start with, you won’t need to learn coding or other technical skills to manage your website.
Besides this, the platform and its tools are easy to use, so it won’t take much time to get used to it and start building.
Talking about the user interface, you’ll find the main menu at the top. When you click any of its options, the submenus appear in the left sidebar. And on the right side, you’ll find the tools related to the menu option you selected.
So, it’s pretty simple to navigate inside the tool.
Having said that, there are a couple of issues that I want to highlight.
The aesthetic elements, such as the font size, color, etc., aren’t properly selected. So, it’s not easy to go through the information present in different areas of your account, such as the dashboard, course builder, etc.
Even the help option is so tiny that it’s hardly visible.
Another thing that they need to improve is the placement of features. For instance, although there’s a specific section for building sales funnels, you’ll find course funnels and webinar funnels in different sections. It would be better if you could manage all funnels in a single place.
Otherwise, most tools such as course builder, website builder, and sales funnel builder are all intuitive and easy to use.
Overall, you can learn New Zenler easily, but there will be some hindrances due to aesthetic issues and improper placement of specific tools.
Course Creation and Engagement
The primary job of an online course platform is to let creators build their knowledge products and deliver a great learning experience to students. We’ll see how New Zenler performs when it comes to course creation and learner engagement.
Let’s start with New Zenler’s course builder.
Course Builder
New Zenler has a drag-n-drop curriculum builder that makes it easy to upload your content and structure your online course. The curriculum builder has a clean interface and is pretty intuitive to use.
To start with, you can host and add to your course various content formats, including video, audio, PowerPoint, PDF, text, quiz, custom code, etc.
You can even upload SCORM/HTML files from popular eLearning authoring tools like Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and iSpring Studio and get them to play inside your course lessons.
The easiest way to upload your content in New Zenler is using its Bulk Upload functionality. You can select all your files and add them to your course in one go.
The good thing is that apart from uploading files from your system, you can also import files directly from cloud drives (e.g., Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.). Cloud import is much faster and is what I generally prefer to use.
Once you upload your files onto the platform, New Zenler automatically turns each file into a course lesson. You can then reorder the lessons or move them between sections.
Moreover, you can rename and modify the lessons as you want. So when you click on a lesson, it opens the lesson editor, where you’ll see a bunch of settings that you can enable/disable, and you can modify existing content or add new ones.
What I like the most about the course builder is that it gives you a lot of flexibility to add multiple content types to the same lesson.
For example, you can add text, multiple videos, quizzes, PDF downloads, etc., in the same lesson and show them in any order you want.
Another thing I like about New Zenler’s course builder is its video library, where all the videos you upload to the platform are available. So if you want to use one of the existing videos in another lesson or course, you can easily do that without requiring reupload.
The only thing that I don’t like about New Zenler’s course builder is that you don’t have any bulk actions for managing your lessons.
For example, if you want to set multiple lessons as drafts or enable free preview for them, you can’t do that in one go; rather, you’ll have to do it one by one, which is a pain.
Otherwise, New Zenler does a great job when it comes to content uploading and curriculum building. The course builder maintains the right balance between ease of use and flexibility, and I must say that I really like their course creation process.
Content Delivery
As an online course creator, it’s important to deliver your content professionally, and for this, all course platforms offer a course player where your students can watch your course content.
New Zenler is no different in this regard. Once you have created your course structure and uploaded your content, the platform takes care of the rest.
When students click on an enrolled course, they go to the course curriculum page, where all the sections and lessons are listed. Here they can see their progress in the course, and they also have an option to start from where they left.
Now, the actual content is delivered through New Zenler’s course player, which has a modern, minimal design and is great from an end-user experience point of view.
The course player is pretty straightforward, so students can watch your course content in the main area on the right and participate in discussions. It also has a full-screen option available for students for better, distraction-free learning.
Once they complete a lesson, they can move to the next lesson using the “Next Lesson” button. Plus, they can also navigate between different lessons and sections from the sidebar on the course player.
Moreover, the course player is mobile responsive, so your students will be able to watch your courses without any issues in a browser on their mobile device.
Overall, I like what New Zenler has to offer for their course player. However, there are a couple of things that can be improved.
Firstly, the course player doesn’t look that polished. There are a few aesthetic issues that need to be fixed.
For example, the course completion % is too small and is barely readable. Similarly, there are minor things related to the font, spacing, etc., making the course player look not so elegant.
Secondly, New Zenler has one default template for the course player. There may be scenarios (e.g., delivering membership content) where you want a different design for your player.
So I’d like to see more pre-designed templates (or themes) for the course player. Also, it would be great if they allowed creators to customize the player design as per their needs.
Thirdly, New Zenler doesn’t offer a mobile app functionality for your students.
While a mobile browser should work fine for most people, it doesn’t support certain features like offline viewing, push notifications, etc.
Learning and Engagement
New Zenler recognizes the importance of learning and engagement tools to build a successful online education business. Therefore, you’ll get some great features in this aspect.
Now, we are going to check each tool individually, starting with quizzing and certificate tools.
Quizzes and Certificates
New Zenler lets you create quizzes with:
- Multiple-choice questions
- Image-based questions
- True and false style questions
Besides that, it supports both single answer and multiple answer questions.
Plus, you can add images/videos to both questions and answers and apply formatting to them.
You can add a passing grade to your quiz so that students can be assessed automatically based on their answers. Also, it’s possible to make it compulsory for them to pass the quiz to progress further in the course.
Moreover, there are a couple of handy features, such as randomizing questions and creating a timed quiz.
On top of that, you have a bunch of other quiz options to improve the end-user experience:
- Ability to show results after each question
- Display a progress bar
- Enable navigation buttons
- Enable touch and slide on mobile
- Review your answers at the end
Another important learning tool that you get on the platform is Assignments. With this feature, you can make it compulsory for your students to submit homework — they can either provide text-based input or upload a file.
You can add an Assignment to any course lesson, and the user will see it in the course player. Once they submit a response, you’ll get notified, and you can then evaluate it.
Moreover, the instructor and the student can communicate privately via the comments section at the bottom of the assignment lesson.
Now, the platform also allows you to create and send certificates to your students natively. Many modern course platforms ignore the certificates feature, so it’s great to have this inbuilt into New Zenler.
To create a certificate, you have six pre-designed templates that include student name, course name, date of completion, etc. Alternatively, you can import a certificate template and use it as well.
Once you have your template ready, you just need to enable the certificate for a course. That’s it, and New Zenler will take care of the rest.
There is one more New Zenler tool that I want to mention here – Surveys, which allows you to collect feedback from your students easily.
Content Dripping and Locking
New Zenler offers Content Dripping that allows you to create a drip schedule. So, you can release sections within your course based on that schedule instead of making it all available as soon as someone signs up for your course.
You can start releasing content immediately after enrollment or on a specific date as well.
Moreover, you can send notification emails automatically to your students when new content becomes available to them. This is a great way of engaging your students and bringing them back to your course.
Another course delivery feature that you get is Compulsory Lessons. With this feature, you can mark a lesson (or a quiz) in your course as compulsory, and unless someone completes that, they won’t be able to move forward in the course.
This is a really useful feature for ensuring that your students don’t skip your lessons and actually consume the course content.
Moreover, if you offer corporate training or sell courses with credits, the Compulsory Lessons feature will be handy in ensuring compliance.
Community
New Zenler has a dedicated feature called Communities, which allows you to create a site-wide community or a community-specific to a course or a membership.
The process of setting up a new community is quite easy and quick. By default, you get a clean, modern design that looks nice.
Both you and your members can create community posts with text, images, videos, and file uploads. Other members can like posts, leave comments, and post emoticons in their replies.
Plus, your members will automatically get notified via email when you, the instructor, or another member posts a reply in a thread they’ve either started or participated in. As a community owner, you can send them a custom email notification as well.
You also have some basic moderation tools like deleting specific posts or turning off commenting for them.
Having said that, New Zenler’s community tool is very basic. It lacks super essential features like topics, events, member directory, polls and quizzes, etc. Without these features, it’s difficult to drive any real engagement.
Another thing is you can only sell a community along with a course, and not individually.
Most importantly, since your students don’t get a mobile app on New Zenler, it’s not that easy for them to access your community on the go. Also, you miss out on features like push notifications, which can be handy in driving engagement.
So, while the community feature is a great addition to the platform, it’s still in its early stages. It needs some major upgrades to become a real alternative to specialized community platforms.
Live Classes
Live Class feature lets you deliver interactive online classes with New Zenler’s native Zoom integration.
Here, you can schedule a live lesson, set session duration, limit the number of attendees, restrict who can access the session, send reminder emails, etc. You can also make the live classes recurring with daily, weekly, and monthly periods.
However, what I like the most about the Live Class feature is that you don’t need an additional Zoom subscription. It’s included in your New Zenler membership and will save you some money.
I like how New Zenler offers a lot of flexibility to create quizzes and exams. The only must-have feature missing is the ability to import questions from an external file directly.
Course Creation – The Bottom Line
Overall, New Zenler does an excellent job when it comes to course creation and learner engagement. It has an easy-to-use course builder with all the necessary features.
The course player has all the required elements as well, but some aesthetic issues (lack of a mobile app) cost the end-user experience.
For learning and engagement, New Zenler offers all the important tools like quizzes, assignments, certificates, community, live classes, content locking, etc.
Site Design and Customization
This section will discuss the features that New Zenler has to offer for building your course website and sales pages.
To start with, every site built on New Zenler gets a free subdomain (mysite.newzenler.com), and you can also use a custom domain.
As part of your subscription, you also get free hosting and a free SSL certificate.
Moreover, their team takes care of all the maintenance and updates on the platform, making things even easier for you.
Another thing to note is that New Zenler allows you to have a completely white-labeled website.
You can also change the language of your website with a single click. On top of that, you can change the default text on your course player, checkout page, system emails, etc.
Website Themes
New Zenler doesn’t have any real themes feature, and it just has one default template that you work with for your site. Because of this, you’ll need to make a lot of effort in creating a website.
It does allow you to set branding at the site level. It has a Branding section where you can upload your logo, select the font, and customize the colors of various elements (button, text, etc.) of your website.
Here, you can also set your color preferences for your course player and your community area.
However, you can’t decide things like page layout, page width, style of various elements, etc., at the site level, which will be a challenge if you have a website with many pages.
Page Builder
New Zenler’s powerful visual page builder compensates for the site themes to a great extent. The page builder has an intuitive user interface and is pretty straightforward to use.
By default, it creates pages like the homepage and course pages (sales page, checkout page, thank you page), and you can further customize them. Plus, you can always create a new page from scratch.
When you build a new page, you can start by adding Blocks to it. A Block is like a section on your page, and New Zenler has dozens of prebuilt ones for things like page header, course listings, gallery, FAQs, testimonials, etc.
On top of that, there are dozens of pre-designed templates for these Blocks, making page building much faster and easier than if you were building everything from scratch.
New Zenler also gives you the ability to add pop-ups on pages. Again, you have prebuilt popup templates that you can work with and you can customize them extensively as you do with other Blocks.
So if you want to create a lead-capture popup that shows when someone tries to leave your website, you can do that easily.
Now, a Block is made up of what they call Elements, and the most important element here is Rows, as it allows you to create flexible layouts for your page section.
For example, you can add rows to page sections, make it single-column or multi-column, and set the width for these columns.
Plus, you can add different elements like text, headings, forms, buttons, images, videos, countdown timer, etc., to these rows as you want.
Now, modifying and updating Blocks and Elements on your page is pretty easy as well.
You just need to click on the element you want to edit, and it will highlight it along with its editing options like spacing, alignment, color, width, etc. Apart from this, you can add animations, delays, or intervals in your page elements.
You can also save a page Block as a template and use it on other pages.
Now, New Zenler pages are fully mobile responsive. Additionally, if you want different settings for different devices, the platform lets you do that as well.
It also allows you to hide certain elements from certain devices. So, if you want a page section to show only on a desktop, you can easily hide it from mobile and tablet views.
New Zenler even maintains a version history for your pages. So if you don’t like any modifications, you can very easily revert to the older version.
Another thing that I like about the page builder is that it works across all types of pages, including course library page, login page, checkout pages, etc.
Overall, New Zenler’s page builder gives you a lot of firepower without compromising with ease when it comes to building and designing your website pages.
Blogging
Apart from the ability to build your website, you can also create a blog. This feature includes the ability to set up your blog page, add blog posts, categorize them, and do basic SEO settings.
Adding content to your blog posts is easy as well. You get a user-friendly text editor to add your text and media and do all the basic formatting. You can also set visibility for each blog post: for everyone, logged-in users only, and users enrolled in certain courses.
While you can’t compare New Zenler’s blogging tool with WordPress regarding functionality or design options, it has all the essential bases covered. Therefore, you’ll be able to build a fully functional blog inside the platform.
Website Creation – The Bottom Line
Overall, New Zenler does a good job as far as site-building is concerned. It gives you free hosting, free SSL, and the ability to use a custom domain for your website.
While it doesn’t offer any website themes, it has a powerful page builder which makes it possible to create any custom design. Also, you can build a fully-fledged blog using New Zenler.
Sales and Marketing
New Zenler promises to be an all-in-one platform for selling online courses, so they come with a powerful sales and marketing suite which is what we’ll explore in this section.
This is also something that distinguishes New Zenler from other online course platforms as most of them limit themselves to certain essential tools required to process payments and sell your courses.
Product Pricing Options
To successfully sell your course, your online course platform should offer you the flexibility to price your products.
With New Zenler, you can sell individual courses as well as bundle multiple courses. In addition, you can keep your product free, charge a one-time fee, a recurring subscription, or even a payment plan.
Moreover, you can have multiple pricing plans for your products (both courses and bundles) and choose what your customers get as part of each plan. This is handy if you want to create multiple tiers for your course/membership.
So if you’re selling a course, you can select what sections/lessons a student will have access to as part of a plan. Similarly, if you’re selling a bundle, you can select what courses you want to include in a plan.
As far as recurring subscriptions are concerned, you can charge your customers monthly, yearly, quarterly, half-yearly, or custom time period basis.
In addition, you can charge a one-time setup fee and offer a free trial if you want.
On top of these, New Zenler has a couple of useful options for making things even more flexible.
You can set enrollment start and close dates for your products. This way, students will only be able to enroll within these dates.
Another such feature is the ability to set course validity for a pricing plan. You can also limit the number of enrollments for a course if you want.
Finally, you can use New Zenler’s coupon feature to offer discounts. With coupons, you can offer a percentage discount or a fixed discount. Plus, you can make the coupon applicable to all products or specific ones.
The platform also allows you to set a coupon redemption limit and coupon expiry date, which makes managing coupons much easier.
Payments and Checkouts
When there are more payment methods, it’s better for end-users as they get the option to pay how they want.
New Zenler supports three main processors — Stripe, PayPal, and Razorpay. And all of these are available for one-time and recurring payments.
Coming to the checkout process, all the products you create on the platform get a checkout page generated automatically.
The checkout process is well-optimized from a conversion point of view. It’s a -step process where your users need to create an account only after completing their payment.
The default checkout page template is well structured with various elements like product details, pricing details, contact information, payments form, etc.
You can customize the checkout page further using the page builder and add more elements like videos, countdown timers, etc.
Moreover, the checkout page includes conversion elements like testimonials, money-back guarantee badge, secure payment icons, etc.
On top of that, you can add order bumps and 1-click upsells to your checkout process, which is great for increasing the lifetime value of your customers.
Finally, New Zenler allows you to handle EU VAT, which is quite a useful feature whereby they collect, report and even pay the tax on your behalf.
Marketing Funnel Builder
One of the most important features that New Zenler offers is the ability to create marketing funnels. The idea is to enable creators with little marketing experience or technical knowledge to create marketing workflows easily.
If you compare it with other course platforms, most of them don’t have such a feature. So, users need to rely on a specialized funnel builder for the same.
When you create a funnel in New Zenler, it first asks you to select the type of funnel (workflow). Currently, it supports only two funnel types – Lead Magnet and Video Series.
Once you select a funnel type, it will ask you to enter basic details like what lead magnet you want to deliver or what videos you want to include in your video series.
Then, you can choose from one of the several themes available for the funnel type. These themes influence the design of your funnel pages.
Once you go through these steps, New Zenler will automatically create all the pages in your funnel.
For example, if you selected Video Series Funnel, the funnel builder will create the opt-in page and the individual video pages.
Now, if you want to edit any of the pages in the funnel, you can easily do that using the same page builder we discussed earlier in this New Zenler review.
You can also add new pages to your funnel or change their order if you want. When you add a new step, you have pre-built templates that you can choose from for your page.
While the funnel builder is fairly simple to use and the concept behind it excellent, there are certain issues, making it less useful at this point.
Firstly, you only have only two funnel types supported. So, for example, if you want to create a tripwire funnel, you can’t do that on the platform.
Secondly, the whole marketing funnels aspect of New Zenler can be a bit confusing. Apart from the marketing funnel builder, you have separate places for managing webinar funnels and course funnels.
So, whenever you create a course or a webinar, the platform automatically creates a funnel. However, they’re in a separate place, and it would be nice to integrate all these into a single place for ease of use.
Finally, you can’t create end-to-end sales funnels using the funnel builder. So, I would like to see the platform allow users to add email campaigns, sales pages, and checkout pages, create webinars, etc., within the funnel builder itself.
For example, if you want to promote a course at the end of a video series, you have to create the first part of your funnel under Marketing Funnels while the second part will be under Courses.
Otherwise, New Zenler’s marketing funnel builder is a useful tool to have as it makes it possible to create marketing campaigns inside the platform.
Email Marketing
New Zenler has inbuilt tools for email marketing and automation.
It has a feature called Email Broadcasts which lets you send one-off emails to your audience.
You can easily create a segment using user tags, roles, purchase history, course enrollment, and other advanced filter options. There’s a text editor for editing email content. After that, you have the option of either sending the email immediately or scheduling it for a later date.
Apart from Email Broadcast, New Zenler has another feature called Automations. With this feature, you can create email sequences and send them automatically based on user actions.
The automation builder is pretty straightforward. It works on when/then rules where you can define a trigger and the actions that follow. You can also specify a delay between various actions.
For example, when someone subscribes to one of your funnels, you can trigger a series of emails to go out to them automatically.
In terms of actions, you can send an email, add a tag, remove a tag, send a webhook or notify an admin. Plus, you can create a conditional filter rule for these actions and apply it only to certain people and not all subscribers.
For example, if you want to send certain emails (e.g., sales emails) in your campaign only to those who haven’t bought a course, you can easily do that by creating a filter inside your email action.
Now, the automation builder is available in a few different places — marketing funnels, courses, and webinars. Every time you create one of these, New Zenler will automatically create an automation sequence for you.
Having said that, there are some major issues with New Zenler’s automation feature.
Firstly, the automation builder isn’t very flexible. It has limited triggers, making it suitable only for creating the most basic email campaigns like the new subscriber welcome sequence or customer onboarding sequence.
Secondly, there’s no dedicated section for managing automations, so you can’t create end-to-end campaigns easily. You’ll also have to manage different campaigns from different places.
For example, if you were to send users a welcome series upon subscription and an onboarding campaign upon course purchase. Then, you’ll have to set up the first part under the marketing funnels section, while the second part will be under the courses section.
Another issue is that you get a simple text editor that doesn’t give you many designs and formatting options for designing and creating emails. For example, you can’t apply a custom color to your text, or you can’t add a button to your email.
On top of that, you neither have pre-designed email templates nor can you customize the default email template, which is a bit restrictive.
So, New Zenler has only the basic features for email marketing and automation. It doesn’t have a fully-fledged email marketing tool, and you’ll be better off using a solution like ConvertKit for email marketing.
Affiliate Marketing
New Zenler has all the essential features you need to set up and manage an affiliate program for your online course business.
To start with, you can add new affiliates manually from your admin dashboard. Then, notify them via email about your affiliate program and how they can access their dashboard. Currently, you don’t get a public sign-up page for your affiliates.
Apart from this, the affiliate suite is pretty straightforward, where you can set affiliate cookie duration, add affiliates, set a commission % for them, and select the courses you want them to promote.
Plus, your affiliates get access to a private dashboard where they can see the program details, grab their affiliate links, track their sales and commissions, and set their payout details.
Having said that, there are a couple of things about New Zenler’s affiliate tool that aren’t so good and need improvement.
Firstly, you can’t set separate commission % for different products even though you can set separate % for affiliates.
For example, if you’re selling two different courses and want to offer 40% and 20% commission, you can’t do that in New Zenler.
Another issue is that affiliate links work only for New Zenler pages and not for external websites. So if you have your main website on WordPress, you won’t be able to create affiliate links pointing to that.
Otherwise, if your course website is built on the platform, using the inbuilt affiliate tools will be the easiest and fastest way to launch and run your affiliate program.
Sales and Marketing – The Bottom Line
Overall, New Zenler has decent sales and marketing capabilities. To start with, it has all the important selling tools for pricing your product, processing payments, handling checkouts, collecting EU VAT, and affiliate marketing.
It also has a couple of handy marketing features – Marketing Funnel Builder and Automations. However, both these features are missing some critical pieces at this point and so they can be used only for running basic marketing campaigns.
Reporting and Administration
An important aspect of growing your online course business is the ability to track the performance of your products and campaigns and manage your courses, students, and other aspects.
This is what we’ll cover in this section.
Reporting and Analytics
New Zenler has a separate Reports section in the admin dashboard to track your course completion data, quiz scores, sales performance, and affiliate sales.
To be specific, there are four different reports available, and each of the reports is designed to give you a high-level overview and deeper insights.
So, if you want to see your students’ progress, you can use the Course Progress report. Here, you can get a quick overview of the number of people who have enrolled in a course vs started it vs completed it.
Then, there’s a detailed report to see individual students’ progress in a specific course. Moreover, you can click on an individual student and see their progress lesson-wise.
Similarly, if you want to analyze your sales performance, you can look at the Sales report, which gives you an overview of the sales you’ve made in specific periods and for specific courses.
Plus, if you want to pull out detailed transaction reports and see how many sales you generated from a coupon or by an affiliate, you can do that as well.
Apart from these reports, you can also find some useful analytics in individual sections. For example, if you have created an assignment, you’ll easily track things like submission, approvals, and rejections.
Though New Zenler’s reporting tools are pretty handy and help keep track of the performance, a couple of things require improvement.
To start with, there are no visual reports or graphs to compare sales or progress for different courses or during different periods.
Secondly, New Zenler doesn’t have any inbuilt video analytics tools. So you can’t track things like play rate, engagement rate, etc., for your course videos.
Finally, you miss out on some important membership metrics like churn rate, MRR, etc., which can be limiting if you run a subscription-based membership site.
People Management
When it comes to people management, New Zenler makes it quite easy to add new students to your site or manage existing enrollments.
To start with, you can add users either one by one or bulk import them into your site. Then, you can assign the correct role to them.
To manage your existing audience, you can segment them using various filters. For example, you can filter the students based on course enrollment, course completion, user tags, custom field values, coupons they’ve used, etc.
Moreover, you can select a single user and track their entire lifecycle on your school.
Here, you can see what courses they’re enrolled in, their course progress, their purchase history, which communities they have joined, their lesson discussion, what funnels they’re subscribed to, etc.
Moreover, you can add them to a new course, remove their course access, manage their subscription, issue a refund, unsubscribe them from a funnel, etc.
User Roles
New Zenler offers a really useful feature for site administration that allows you to add your team members to your site. Here are the roles supported:
- Owners can access everything, and you can’t remove them.
- Site Admins can access all the sections except the billing section, integrations, and API key.
- Instructors access the assigned courses, their students, and course reports.
- Assistants are the same as Site Admins except for access to financial reports.
- Support has access to the People section and can manage your users.
These admin roles are in addition to the three other roles supported by New Zenler — leads, students, and affiliates.
They give you a great amount of flexibility in managing your team on the platform. Plus, the instructor role is beneficial when building an online school and adding multiple instructors.
Third-Party Integrations
New Zenler lets you integrate with other tools by which you can increase the functionality.
To start with, you can add third-party scripts to your website.
So, you can easily integrate New Zenler with analytics tools like Google Analytics and FB Pixel. It also lets you integrate with lead generation tools like ConvertBox and Sumo and tracking tools like Deadline Funnel.
For email sending and tracking, you can use Zenler Mail as your SMTP provider or use a custom SMTP solution like Sendgrid and Mandrill.
Otherwise, if you prefer using a third-party email service provider, New Zenler has direct integrations with MailChimp, ConvertKit, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, and Moosend.
Plus, you can integrate New Zenler with Zapier, which allows you to integrate hundreds of other tools like ClickFunnels, ThriveCart, Aweber, Hubspot, Slack, and many others, which don’t have a direct integration with the platform.
Finally, New Zenler has a public API that allows you to integrate other websites, external apps, SSO, or services with your site.
For example, if you want to integrate your course platform with a specialized community software like Circle, you can do that through Zenler API.
Customer Support
New Zenler has a dedicated customer service team, so if you’re facing any issues or you’re stuck somewhere, you can simply reach out to them.
To get in touch with customer support, you can drop a message via the chat widget. Remember that this isn’t live chat support, and you won’t get an immediate response.
However, the team is pretty responsive, and you’ll generally get a response via email within a day during weekdays.
In addition, they have a self-help section with how-to articles and step-by-step videos that show how to create a course on the platform, build your website, set up your marketing, and other aspects of New Zenler.
While the articles are all very helpful, the knowledge base is still not very comprehensive. There are certain aspects of the New Zenler platform which aren’t covered in any of the articles.
Finally, New Zenler has a Private Facebook group where creators can sign up to get notified about updates, participate in discussions, and ask questions.
Pricing Plans
Now that we’ve covered different aspects of the platform in this New Zenler review, let’s talk about pricing.
The platform is currently in beta, and you can sign up on the platform to try its core features for free. However, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan to use all the features.
New Zenler currently has two paid plans — the Pro plan, which costs $67/month, and the Premium plan, which costs $197/month. Plus, you can subscribe to their yearly plans to get an additional discount.
What’s great about New Zenler pricing is that you can create unlimited courses and students on both plans with no transaction fee.
Plus, both the plans include almost all the features that the platform offers.
The only two features which aren’t available on the Pro plan are custom user roles and Single Sign-on. Both are advanced features, and most creators won’t need them.
Otherwise, the two plans differ in terms of the number of leads, funnels, emails, and sites.
- You get 25,000 leads, 100,000 monthly emails, 100 marketing funnels, and three sites with the Pro plan.
- With the Premium plan, you get unlimited leads, 500,000/monthly emails, unlimited marketing funnels, and ten sites.
For most creators, the Pro plan should be more than sufficient. You should go with their Premium plan only when you have a huge email list or need the two specific features mentioned above.
One of the main reasons New Zenler has attracted so much attention from the creator community is its unbeatable pricing. You can’t expect an all-in-one course platform to have this kind of pricing. I’m sure it will increase once they come out of beta.
New Zenler vs the Competition
Before concluding, let’s compare New Zenler with its competitors, and see where it stands.
The platform most often compared against New Zenler is Kajabi, another all-in-one online course platform.
Based on features, Kajabi does a much better job in most aspects. It offers multiple course player themes, an iOS/Android mobile app, the coaching program, and the Automations features.
Besides that, there are website themes, better blogging features, podcast tools, a more powerful funnel builder, and robust email automation tools.
However, note that Kajabi’s expensive, with its basic plan costing $149/month.

Another set of New Zenler competitors includes standalone course platforms like Teachable and Thinkific.
These platforms are recommended over New Zenler if you primarily want course creation and engagement tools, and your website and funnels are already built on some other platform.
These tools are easier to use, more robust, and better for course creation and engagement.
New Zenler Review – Final Verdict
In this New Zenler review, we’ve discussed all the important features that the platform offers. And without a doubt, it’s one of the most feature-rich course platform options available in the market right now.
It has powerful course creation tools, including a flexible course builder, advanced quizzing tools, assignments, certificates, content dripping/locking, community builder, and live classes.
On top of that, you get website builder, blogging tool, marketing funnel builder, and email marketing tools, so you can pretty much run your entire online course business on the platform.
Just keep in mind that the platform is still in beta, so you’ll experience a few kinks in the software while using it. Also, certain sections require significant improvements, such as sales funnel builder and email marketing tools.
Having said that, the platform pricing is super affordable, making it an ideal option for those getting started or those with a stringent budget.
